We are still waiting.....obviously. We have met with our social worker to see what she was thinking. She said that "several" birth mothers have looked at our portofolio but no one has picked us yet. In some ways it is nice to hear that there are birth mothers placing their babies for adoption and that we meet the criteria enough that they are looking at us. It is however disappointing to know that we have not been picked by "several" people. Our social worker speculates that our age may be playing a role in that since that is the only thing that is really setting us apart from the people that are being picked, they are in their mid to late thirties. I can see that in some ways since some of the birth mothers are mid twenties and probably are thinking that if they can't keep the child and do it how are we able to be ready when we are only a couple of years older. Of course we can't change our age but we asked that she be sure to share with the mothers or professional stability and help them see that we are stable.
We have created a website that is all about Jeremy and I so birth mothers have one more thing to look at to learn more about us. The just need to see who we really are so they will pick us and know that we are the right choice. Birth mothers can link to our website through the agency's site.
